The Amazing Power Of Raw Juice Fasting
Who wants more energy? Who wants more health? Juice fasting is the fastest way to achieve all of this and even more.
I cannot say how powerful juice fasting can be. It has been for me a terrific experience. After often some pretty harsh detoxifying symptoms, you start to feel so much better. I recently did a 7 day green juice fast; I lost fat, I felt energized, my skin cleared up and I gained mental clarity. The benefits are truly exceptional.
Many have asked me why juice fasting is so beneficial? That is because by only drinking fresh juices, you stop the digestion process which is very taxing in terms of energy. The body therefore utilizes all that energy to fix itself and detoxify. Most toxins that are stored in the fat get cleared out and you inevitably start to feel better and illnesses goes away.
What are the basic steps to a juice fast?
Firstly you will eat a diet of as much raw fruit and vegetables at least 3 days before you start the fast to gradually start the detox. You can start right away but the initial detox symptoms can be brutal.
You then start juicing and you will juice maybe 2 to 3 l of juice that you will cut with water and drink throughout the day. I personally think that you should drink as much as you need to. Just listen to your body. Some days you might drink more than others but when you start you definitely need to drink at least 3l of water/juice. If you are working or not at home, prepare the juice in the morning and put it in a thermos to drink throughout the day.
I recommend green vegetable juices for a juice fast. One of my favourites is cucumber, celery and fennel, sometimes i will add some mint or parsley. If you have trouble initially with pure green juices, you can juice some carrots or beats but try to avoid fruits that are too sweet. I would use as a base cucumber and celery and then you can add kale, cabbage, fennel, parsley.whatever greenish vegetable you like. Once in a while you can have some lemon juice with warm water, it tastes very nice and contrary to what people think is alkalizing for the body like green juices.
You can fast from 1 day to 90 days depending on your goals. I recommend starting with a 3 to 7 day juice fast. The truth is that the real detox starts on day 3 when your stomach will have digested and gotten rid of all ingested foods.
Breaking the fast is also key. Break the fast with some light raw vegetables or fruits. Do not eat too much and then ease slowly back into your diet (a healthy diet). If you go back to your exact previous diet ( if its not a healthy diet), youll put back on all the weight you lost and get intoxicated again.
